Our gated community has DIRECT private access to Dolly Sods Wilderness Area with the best hiking in the mid-Atlantic. Just 1 mile from our cabin with a dedicated parking lot that is NEVER full. 

The crown jewel of the amazing WV state park system, Blackwater Falls State Park has hiking, swimming, disc golf, & a nature center. Canaan Valley State Park also offers hiking, golf, a pool, tennis, & mini-golf.

Timberline Mountain offers 1000 vertical feet of skiing for all levels. Canaan Valley Ski Resort and White Grass Ski Touring (cross-country) are also great skiing options for snowy weather. Ski rentals are available.

The local towns of Davis and Thomas are a short drive away with a wide array of boutiques, souvenirs, art galleries, bike and ski rentals, great restaurants, and more. 

Live music Is easy to find In any season including the famous Purple Fiddle In Thomas, Milo's in Davis, and the Mountainside Music Series at Canaan Valley State Park. (May - Sept.). 

Canaan Valley Wildlife Refuge has a nature center, a nature trail, and an accessible boardwalk for bird-watching and nature viewing. 

From corn whiskey to apple brandy to amazing beer - we've got it all! Check out Stumptown Ales and Still Hollow.

Get out on the water and cool down on a warm day with multiple options for rafting and kayaking on the local rivers.

With miles of country roads, trails, and gravel paths, bikers have their own choice of adventures. Bike rentals are available.

The area has many caves and caverns to explore. Smoke Hole Caverns is a kitschy favorite! 

Even non-skiers can enjoy the great outdoors in the winter with sledding and snow tubing at the state parks.
